In 2002, the perfumers of the Japanese fashion house Comme des Garsons presented a luxurious collection of five unisex fragrances Series 3: Incense, which combine the magnificent accords of mystical incense.
The Kyoto fragrance was developed by renowned perfumer Bertrand Douchafour. The amazing composition is a tribute to Japanese culture, where incense is used throughout traditional Buddhist and Shinto practices. Kodo (Japanese incense ceremony) originated in Kyoto, where incense trees were heated at a low temperature, which contributed to filling the room with aroma without smoke.
Kyoto's composition is based on coffee notes, which gradually turn into relaxing woody accords, accentuated by cool incense. Vetiver and patchouli complete it.
